It was an honor working with this beautiful couple. for their engagement session at Lake Sakakawea North Dakota. They have been through a lot, just like many of my wedding couples in 2020. Their wedding venue and date had to be changed twice due to COVID restrictions and issues as well as military deployment and restrictions. I had been working with them for several months now, trying to do anything I could to make their planning process as far as the wedding photography as seamless with the unforeseen ever-changing wedding plans.
When this sweet couple got yet more news that they could not come to the Pacific Northwest for their engagement session due to deployment, it was another heartbreaking blow.
I offered in the middle of a global pandemic to hop on a plane and fly over to them in North Dakota to capture their love story. It’s where the groom is stationed in the Airforce since they were unable to come to me. Having a son in the military myself, I’m well aware of all of the sacrifices made to serve our country. This was the least I could do. I will always go over and beyond for those who serve, and it was an honor to pay it forward and serve them right back!
They generously hosted my flight and off I went to explore another state I had never been to. North Dakota was beautiful but this couple made it a stunning engagement session. They have incredible chemistry together and it was so much fun to document their love story at the place they call home for now.
Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota was gorgeous! And despite the moments of insane mosquitoes, we all laughed the evening away, and in the process, I had the privilege of captured one beautiful love story!
Thank you for contributing to my 50 State photography goal and making it the 16th State I’ve had the honor to capture a love story!!!!
I’m in love with this engagement session both in color and black and white…
Here’s a little sneak peek!
