{Lauren + Jake} Destination Wedding Magnolia Plantation Charleston, South Carolina | Charleston South Carolina Wedding Photographer

Lauren & Jake chose Charleston, South Carolina to say their “I do’s” the perfect destination wedding. A stunning city of amazing beauty, and rich history. It is not hard to see why so many choose Charleston to have their weddings. We joined them at The Inn at Middleton Place. The Inn adjoins the gardens at Middleton Place, a rice plantation laid out in 1741. Members of the Middleton family include Henry who was President of the First Continental Congress, and Arthur who was a signer of Declaration of Independence. The manicured lawns, formal gardens, moss draped live oaks and ponds filled with alligators are a wedding photographers dream. Everywhere we turned we saw another beautiful photograph. We speak so often about the adrenalin rush we see on our clients faces, I wonder if Lauren and Jake could see how excited we were? The wedding was held just a short distance away at Magnolia Plantation, another of the historical plantations found in South Carolina’s lowcountry. They chose to have the ceremony on the Pond Lawn overlooking the Ashley River. It was perfect in every way. The guests were entertained by porpoise’s swimming with alligators in the river while a cacophony of tree frogs sang from their roosts. A single acoustic guitarist serenaded the guests to “Carolina in My Mind” while they retreated to the cocktail hour in The Conservatory. Lauren had created a splendid setting in The Conservatory for all of the guests to enjoy. It was magical. Every detail was carefully planned. The tables were amazingly decorated. The guests danced into the night to sounds of the Unkle Funkle band. When the festivities were over the newlyweds exited through a tunnel of sparklers. With one last surprise Jake whisked his bride away in a 1961 Rolls Royce Phantom V limousine, originally purchased by Queen Elizabeth for her representative to Rome. We want to say thank you so much to Lauren and Jake for choosing us to capture their love story and for hosting our trip to the South.
