Taylor & Ethan “Trash the Dress” photo shoot Mt. Bachelor Central Oregon | Central Oregon Wedding Photographer

Taylor and Ethan were married in Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2010. Taylor contacted me after the wedding because she had always dreamed of having wedding photography in the snow. We were so excited when we found out that they wanted to drive to Central Oregon all the way from Vancouver, Washington to do the shoot. We live in Bend, just thirty minutes from Mt. Bachelor and we thought; what a great place to take Taylor and Ethan! The scene was angelic, the sun filtering through the pines and snow fluttering about from time to time. The weather turned from snowy to clear blue skies and then back again but the two of them really enjoyed themselves through it all. We are delighted that they made the long drive to Mt. Bachelor because the scene truly complimented the playful couple, not to mention Taylor’s exquisite dress.

Trash the Dress, also known as ‘Rock the Frock’ is a wonderful way for a couple to get additional wedding photographs. To some, “trashing” the dress is a declaration that the wedding is over and the dress will never be worn again. For others, it is an excuse to wear their gown for one more day. It gives the bride the opportunity to do something a little different with her hair or her flowers or to get that perfect shot at a new location. It allows the bride and groom to relax and have fun together and for the bride to do things in her dress that she wouldn’t normally do on her wedding day. Trash the Dress photo shoots are also fun for the photographer. We had an amazing time collaborating with Taylor and Ethan for their fun and creative Trash the Dress photo shoot in the mountains this weekend.
The weather was so funny … one minute it’s snowing like crazy, the next we had beautiful sun rays!Like what you see? Please feel free to leave us a comment… we welcome the feedback and our couples love it too!

  • […] Who can predict the weather…a year or more in advance? Some times it all just doesn’t work out the way that you had wished. One Portland couple dreamed of a winter wonderland as the backdrop to their wedding but it was not to be. Never losing sight of the the pictures they would love to have they booked a shoot for after the wedding. They drove down to Bend, and together we all drove up Century Drive to Dutchman’s Flat. The snow was several feet deep. The skies were dumping. In their finest attire they broke trail, and snuggled together. Back in the car with blankets and towels off we went to a snow park a little bit back towards town. A break in the clouds, blue sky, and warm sun, another great location. Some call it trashing the dress others are rocking their frock. Our clients bring us great ideas, we like to help make it happen. […]ReplyCancel
