We had such a great time getting to know Cristina and Aaron. Their enthusiasm for the shoot is what makes my job so amazing. I offer an Engagement Photography Tips brochure to my clients and Cristina and Aaron carefully and thoughtfully followed all of my suggestions from her wardrobe variety and adorable accessories to his creative scouting and unique evening photo shoot concept.
It had been raining on and off all day but just as we pulled our cameras out to begin the shoot the rain stopped. It was Aaron’s wonderful idea to do the photo shoot at night and he spent hours scouting their favorite places in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon. With raindrops glistening in the night light, this was truly an enchanting experience but I think that the key feature in Cristina and Aaron’s photo shoot was the car. The immaculate 1972 Ford Galaxy 500 originally belonged to Aaron’s great grandfather. His grandfather had an accident while driving the car in the snow, after which it sat totaled in an open field for years. When Aaron was a teenager, he asked his great-grandfather if he could have the car. Around the same time he was diagnosed with Leukemia. His grandfather gave it to him and shortly after Aaron was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Aaron’s one wish was to have his great-grandfather’s car resorted. The Make-A-Wish Foundation made Aaron’s dream come true. Today Aaron is cancer-free and we look forward to photographing their wedding at the Gorge Crest Vineyards in Hoodriver this summer. http://www.gorgecrest.com/vineyards.htm.jpg)

It was a lot of fun playing around with different lighting techniques with the car shots… I especially adore the vintage feel with the last images, it seemed fitting … since the Ford was a 1972 model.jpg)
